Basic Design and Operation
SMB brakes called "safety brakes" are for stopping or holding the load when power is off. The braking force is supplied by springs and this model is a highly reliable brake. They are typically used for holding robots, Z axis ball screws, servo motors, and general electric motors.
Long life: Durablefriction materials offer long useful product life.
Quick response: Releasing by springs shorts the time of building torque.
Quick action: This brake has no bothersome high pitched whine and can be used in the quietest locations.
Small volume: High torque but small volume.
